Du(m)bya

Our Prez said this yesterday on the issue of a Constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage:

”This national question requires a national solution. And on an issue of such profound importance, that solution should come not from the courts, but from the people of the United States.

Profound importance? Fuck you Dubya. How ‘bout we focus our attention and taxpayer money on something really profound like making sure not one more of our troops is killed in combat in the Middle East.

Miss America can do better than that (world peace, etc.).

What a hypocrite. Dubya didn’t seem much concerned about the courts making decisions back in 2000.

Besides, since when do politicians give a shit about the will of The People? Since when do they give a shit what their constituents want done?

The Constitution is no more a place for an amendment on gay marriage than it is a place for an amendment that says I can’t wash myself real fast in the shower if I feel like it.

And here I thought the Republicans’ mantra was smaller government and power to the people.

Fuck you very much.

Since when has the issue of gay marriage been of such profound importance? And since when has Bush given a second thought to what the people want. I hope they all go to hell.
