Perry Stokes Right Wing Lunacy

"We've got a great union. There's absolutely no reason to dissolve it. But if Washington continues to thumb their nose at the American people, you know, who knows what might come out of that." -- Texas Governor Rick Perry 4/15/09, at a "Tea Party" demonstration

I've written to Mr. Perry and my state and federal congressmen about this suggestive, provocative, irresponsible implication.

Perry denies he was hinting at secession.
I contend he's a lying Dumbass.

He may realize he would never be able to get elected president of the United States of America, but hey... if Texas can secede, maybe he could be President of Texas!

What a scheiser...

This kind of rhetoric is absolutely unnecessary, and will only serve to create huge problems here at home. We have plenty of problems at home already and abroad. Wow, they must think the only way to assure that Obama fails is to absolutely screw up America to the point where they can get him out of office, maybe even by violent means, or through something like a coup, or by actually physically dividing the country.

When they talk about how their own fellow Americans, the liberals, are their enemies... well, now I know how it feels to view those on the other end of the spectrum as enemies of mine. I hadn't really looked at them that way until now...

We need to take care not to speak out too much about them in terms of them being enemies of America, because that's probably just what they want us to do. They are dangerous loonies.

It saddens me that you have a lunatic for a guvnor, Carlos. I liked Texas a lot when I was there last month... Way too many nice people to have to put up with that kind of cretinism in high places.

Maybe things will get better and the wingnuts will calm down, but like Obama says about the economy, things will probably get worse before they get better.

I couldn't stand it... I wrote the doofus a letter. I posted what I sent at my blog.

It is pretty discouraging. I sent a letter to Mr. Perry too. I'll email it to you if you have a link for email listed.

Portraying political opponents as the enemy is wholly irresponsible. It makes me worry about the future of our country beyond my lifetime; namely for my kids.

I don't blame you for posting. It was hard to keep mine short.

Imagine the screaming and bellowing from the Right if a liberal governor said something like that during Dumbya's presidency.

The hypocrisy is staggering.
