There’s apparently a big, right-wing uproar over Tuesday’s impending presidential speech to school children. Parents in my fair city of San Antonio are up arms.
A KSAT news poll revealed that 73% of those surveyed said the speech shouldn’t be shown in classrooms. They say it’s politically motivated and, I suspect, think there’s going to be some form of mind control exercised on the tiny chillens. They’re even threatening to keep their children at home Tuesday.
These are the same types of simple-minded imbeciles that likely let their sons and daughters fight, get maimed, and die in Iraq for reasons that have yet to be (and will never be) righteously justified by the politicians who incited the war. They’re the same people who are afraid immigrants are stealing their jobs (you know – all those desirable jobs mainstream America wants: picking lettuce, landscaping, construction, day-laboring, and housekeeping). The same ignorant fucks who spew, “This is Amurca. If you can’t talk Inglish, go back where you came from.” The same people who expect you and me to worship their god and follow their religious beliefs and rules; all while contradicting the basic tenets of the Bible; you know – forgiveness, love, and all that other liberal shit.
I will never understand how people can be so narrow-minded. Why would you not want your kids to hear, learn and understand? I encouraged my kids to watch Bush’s speeches. I made my son watch them on a few occasions. I wanted him to hear what the President of the United States was saying to justify invading Iraq, and why they might send him to war if the draft were to have been reinstated.
But, alas, there remains a loud minority population of our country that is so narrow-minded they refuse to acknowledge anything that doesn’t have crosses, flags, and “support our troops” ribbon magnets adorning it.
They perpetuate ignorance by encouraging their children to simply stick their heads in the sand.
Off to work now.

But, Obama's speech will be promoting "education." OMG, you know what that's a code word for.
What's so great about education? Everything I know I learned from the Old Testament.
