Ok...so this isn't about anyone in government....Sue me...
Dear Fucktards:
Instead of worrying about what the fuck gets built next to Ground Zero, you fuckin’ right-wing pussies should be whining and bitching about the fact that nothing has been built at Ground Zero! Nine years, and we still have a hole in the god damned ground! And you’re not pissed about that?
Here's an idea - Instead of some sappy memorial, why we don’t we just rebuild an exact duplicate of all the World Trade Center buildings, right in their original fuckin' locations? Had it been done, oh, a few years earlier, it would've have been an awesome “fuck you" to those terrorist bastards. Instead, we've been arguing about hallowed this and hallowed that, and "we need this kind of memorial," and "No, we need this kind of memorial." Fucking sad.
I don’t care if they build a mosque, a gay bar, a Dairy Queen or a fuckin’ dildo shop near Ground Zero. We live in a free country, and freedom of religion is just one of the many freedoms America enjoys. As patrioty, flaggy, Goddy, and Constitutiony as you Righties claim to be, I’d think you would have a little respect for the law of the land.
The gov’t has no business prohibiting the construction of any place of worship. Don’t like it? Change the fucking law. Can’t change the fucking law? Sit the fuck down and shut the fuck up.

Right on. The current administration is not in the business of favoring one religion over another or dishing out special treatment, nor should it be... not like the last one was.
Personally, I think a park would have been great, but hell yes, a mighty edifice will do fine.
Nothing has been completed there yet, anyway. Work on the Freedom Tower is progressing. Something IS being built, but it sure hasn't been completed. Ground Zero was finally cleaned up in 2002, and they started work on the Freedom Tower in April of 2006. Supposedly it will be completed in 2013.

And it seems like most of the Righties DON'T have at least a little...! Not unless it suits their political purposes.
And now the wingtards have themselves a big ol' talking point for the November election.
"Mosque at Ground Zero!" will be the "Gay Marriage!" of the 2010 election.
