Texas Racists

I haven't posted on here for a long time. Not that I have droves of readers, but I enjoyed it very much. The onslaught of right-wing idiocy has been too much to digest. In other words, there are just too many dumbasses to write about, so my tiny brain may have just shut down for self-preservation. I will endeavor to write more about the lesser beings in our civil service community...I'm starting with two Texas dumbasses: WOODCREEK, TEXAS MAYOR Gloria Whitehead said: 1. "I'm not a racist." 2. She called the Black Lives Matter movement "a Socialist attempt to take over our lives, using guilt and shame." 3. "Do not misquote me nor change the dialogue. To the contrary..All Lives Matter. AND..I AM NOT A Racist..You can call me a Racist all day long and I'll still not bow to the BLM idealogy." 4. She also called the BLM movement "a threat to our lives." Yeah...she's not a racist. KERR COUNTY, TEXAS COMMISSIONER Harley Belew said, on a radio show: 1. "Someone that dies with a knee on their neck has probably done something wrong to get the cops called there and that’s what people are not talking about," Belew continues. “I was waiting to see how this was going to play out. I figured it was going to be one of these Michael Brown deals, and, of course, it has been.” 2. "George Floyd does not deserve the funeral he's getting, he does not deserve the accolades." Racists, the both of them. Link #BLM

In the News Again

It's been a while, but one of my favorite government Dumbasses was recently back in the news.

Former San Antonio City Councilman Kevin Wolff and current Bexar County Commissioner Kevin Wolff was recently arrested for DWI after rear-ending two cars in a fast food drive-in.  He was wearing only boxer shorts.  Some reports say he was wearing a t-shirt also.

Witnesses say he appeared to be trying to leave the scene after he hit the cars.  Of course Wolffy has "no recollection" of the incident.  Interestingly, he does recollect that he "had no intention of leaving my house Saturday night," according to media reports.

To his credit, he admitted screwing up.  What he didn't admit to was guilt.  He pleaded no contest to DWI.

Mr. Wolff is up for re-election on November 8th.  He'll be running against Brandon J. Johnson and Jason Pipoly.  So get out there and vote this guy out of office before he grows up to be a state or national politician.

People like him are what's wrong with our country.

Here's some information to help you get out and vote this November:

Idiot Cop

Today's Dumbass in Government is Texas State Trooper Brian Encinia.  If you've not heard of Encinia, here's a link full of information.

This picture is intentionally tiny, like Encinia's professional ethics and level of common human decency...and probably his dick.
This Texas-sized piece of shit exhibited some of the most egregious unprofessionalism I've seen or heard of in recent memory.  It is my sincere hope that he is fired and banned from ever serving in a law enforcement position again.

Mr. Encinia - I can pretty much say whatever the fuck I want when I get pulled over by a law enforcement officer.  I am under no obligation to be polite, or to be courteous to you.  I always am courteous with the police, because I was raised right (you obviously weren't), and because there are a few dicks like you in the law enforcement community who might bludgeon me for hurting your feelings.  You, on the other hand, are absolutely bound by a code of professional conduct that mandates you exhibit the utmost patience and professionalism when dealing with the public.

You are an embarrassment to law enforcement officers everywhere.  I unclog my nose at you.

Dan Patrick - You Ignorant Fuck

“While ISIS terrorists threaten to cross our border and kill Americans, my opponent falsely attacks me to hide her failed record on illegal immigration,”

In his latest political commercial, Texas gubernatorial candidate Dan Patrick attempts to steer voters his way (and away from them pussy Democrats) by scaring them.

Unfortunately, this tactic works on the cerebrally challenged.  Fortunately, the cerebrally challenged already vote Republican.

Double Dose of Dumbass!

Texas State Representative John Garza, and prolific Dumbass, was nabbed by local television station WOAI for questionable use of campaign funds.  Among the questionable spending:

- $900 for a Christmas dinner at a fancy steak joint in San Antonio reported by him as a “meeting to discuss officer-holder and campaign issues.”  Unfortunately for this ethically challenged politician, the dinner crowd was comprised of his family members.  WOAI reporter Brian Collister pressed him on the issue.  Garza changed tunes a few times, first saying the dinner was a campaign event attended by longtime supporters; then fessing up to his family being there; then denying he ever said it, all in the same fucking piece.  Moron.

- $4,000 to his wife, who is his campaign treasurer.  He wrote up the expense as “contract labor for campaign services.”  He declined to tell Collister what kind of work she did.  Nice.

Surprise Dumbass!
One of Garza’s advisors, Von Ormy Mayor Art Martinez de Vara, sent Garza an email and accidentally copied reporter Brian Collister!   In the email, Martinez told Garza, “The less we give him, the less he has to work with to make a story.”

Holy sheep shit!  Now we have a pair of dumbasses, apparently equally corrupt and unethical, but also exceedingly stupid.

So, after being busted by Collister and WOAI, Garza paid back his campaign a total of $6,000.  That covers the dinner, the $4K he paid his wife, and additional expenditures on the purchase of a Tuxedo and boots, if you can fucking believe that.

Some tidbits from Garza’s press release (which was more of an attack on his political opponent than anything).  My comments are in blue text.

1.  “My integrity has always been paramount...”
Not anymore.

2.  “To put any questions to rest and to force my opponent to focus on real issues affecting working families, I have reimbursed my campaign for any expenses that have been questioned.”
You wouldn’t have any questions to put to rest, or money to reimburse if you hadn’t misappropriated your campaign funds to begin with.
3.  “…I will not have my integrity brought into question.”
Too late.
4.  “…to have Philip Cortez call that [Garza’s integrity] into question, no matter how outrageously, has had an impact on me and my reputation. I first ran for State Representative to restore accountability to a district where it was sorely lacking.”
You called your integrity into question on your own by spending campaign money the way you did.

5.  “In an effort to hide his [Cortez’s] well-documented history of lying to voters, he has attacked Representative Garza’s unimpeachable integrity.”
I’m thinking “unimpeachable” is an adjective you shouldn’t be using anymore to define your integrity.

When are we as a society going to pass laws that hold our public servants to higher standards, and increase their punishment when caught and convicted of violating the law?

Perry Stokes Right Wing Lunacy

"We've got a great union. There's absolutely no reason to dissolve it. But if Washington continues to thumb their nose at the American people, you know, who knows what might come out of that." -- Texas Governor Rick Perry 4/15/09, at a "Tea Party" demonstration

I've written to Mr. Perry and my state and federal congressmen about this suggestive, provocative, irresponsible implication.

Perry denies he was hinting at secession.
I contend he's a lying Dumbass.

Special Edition - Glen Scott Starnes

Loyal readers might remember a post I did earlier in the year on former Eagle Pass City Manager Glen Scott Starnes. He was arrested for and charged with fraudulently obtaining a government job, and consequently fired.

It seems the good Mr. Starnes now has a new job as City Manager of Grantville, Georgia. That’s in Coweta County, close to 50 miles southwest of Atlanta. He has conveniently stopped using his first name, opting to go by Scott Starnes instead.

Some of the claims on his resume that got him the Eagle Pass job:

-
Assistant City Manger of Converse, Texas (Admitted to be false by Starnes as reported by the San Antonio Express News)

- Congressional Aide to former US Representative Jack Fields 1992-2002
(Fields reported never having him on the payroll, and none of his staff could confirm he ever worked as an aide)

- Three degrees from the
University of Maryland at Rockville (According to the Express News, he amended the degrees in an email to have come from Rochville University. This is a well-known diploma mill that sells diplomas for work/life experience, and promises "no studies, no attendance, no waiting, and no examinations." According to the Express News, “Rochville University is listed on the Web site of the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board as being among the many suspect institutions ‘whose degrees are illegal to use in Texas.’”)
Source

Interestingly, Starnes is also applying for the City Manager job in San Benito, Texas. His resume is there too (replete with poor grammar and format). He did amend his three degrees to have come from Rochville University, and not from the University of Maryland at Rockville. He has those degrees asterisked as follows “(Online/Honorary Degrees not acc-tx)”

1/23/2008 SAN ANTONIO (AP) -- The Eagle Pass City Council has fired its interim city manager, who admitted lying on his resume. Glen Starnes was initially defiant about his resume "fluffing," and the council appeared ready to back him and hire him permanently. But on Tuesday, council members voted to fire the 42-year-old manager. Starnes admits to having a "very shady past" but says he's been trying to change. Mayor Chad Foster says candidates to replace Starnes will be thoroughly vetted by an outside firm.

If the fine people of Grantville choose to have someone of questionable ethics and honesty serving their city, that’s their choice. I just find it hard to believe anyone would after having done a little research into the guy.

I have no personal grudge against Mr. Starnes. Over recent years, I have simply become so fed up with public servants that I decided to start this blog as a combination hobby, place to vent, and public service. Mr. Starnes just happens to be one of the many public servants who has popped up on my radar.

In Other Texas Political News…

Would you vote for a politician who had a photograph of his head superimposed onto the body of a thinner person for inclusion in campaign literature? Yeah. Me either.

Seems I’ve discovered yet another dumbass in Texas: Dean Hrbacek – a Republican candidate for the US Congress. Of course, he says it was a mistake, and accepts full responsibility for the act of deception.

Responsibility-accepting in politics is so very, very cliché. It doesn’t work for me, and probably doesn’t for others with more than six ounces of brain matter and common sense. It might, however, if the contriteness was sincere – but the fact of the matter is that most politicians are awful actors, and pathological liars. You know – kinda like those grief-stricken people interviewed on the ol' teevee who bawl their eyes out, with nary a tear being squirted outta they faces.

Voters: Please don’t send this guy to Washington. There are already enough crooks and fibbers up there. Besides, D.C. might fall into the Ocean, not to mention perpetuate The Raping of America.

Manage This

Once upon a time there was a dumbass. His name was Glen Starnes. He was the City Manager of a little town called Eagle Pass, Texas.

One day Glenny decided to fire a couple of folks from the Human Relations department of the city. The reason? Falsifying Information.

Then one day recently it came to light that Little Glenny had lied on his resume. According to the San Antonio Express News, he admitted lying about only ONE thing on his resume during a speech. The San Antonio Express News, on the other hand, found that the entire document was fictional, including: Doctorate degree; service as Assistant City Manager in Converse, Texas; and serving as an aide to a Houston congressman.

This is exactly the kind of dumbass we need to drum out of politics. If we don’t do it at the local level, they’ll grow up and become big dumbasses serving in our federal government.

What disturbs me about this whole story is that the Eagle Pass City Council’s initial response was to unanimously back little Glenny. In addition to that, there are citizens of Eagle Pass who are torn about whether to support his idiot.

Call me crazy, but a public servant who blatantly and admittedly lies on his resume to get a job serving the people should be terminated without question. It’s pretty simple people.

Fortunately, the mayor of Eagle Pass is leaning toward firing Glenny.

Good riddance, DUMBASS!

Mayor McPerv

So there’s this mayor in Poteet, Texas. His name is Lino Donato. He was arrested for indecency with a child. He pleaded guilty to those charges last week. He was going to hold a meeting yesterday to announce his resignation. Tuesday he decided not to resign.

Apparently taking his cues from Larry Craig, he has decided that his guilty plea was a mistake. He claims he pleaded guilty because he didn’t have proper legal representation. "I was going to resign, but the bottom line is I'm not guilty. I didn't do those things. I need to clear my name,"

Pardon me dumbass, but if I was charged with indecency with a child and I knew I didn’t do it, the last fucking thing I would do is plead guilty.

Do everyone a favor and just go away.

Hey Ralphy

So we in the county of Bexar (pronounced BAY-er) have a sheriff (Ralph Lopez) under grand jury indictment for a problem with ethics.

The San Antonio District Attorney’s office says this:
--Ralphy boy accepted a trip to Costa Rica as a gift.
--This gift was from a company recently hired by Lopez to run the county jail commissaries (a $2M annual gig).
--Ralphy broke the law by not reporting the gift.

But, thank God, Ralphy’s attorney told inquirers, “He strongly feels that he is innocent, and he's done nothing wrong.” No shit? Wow. That’s bitchin’. I’m going write someone and urge they drop the indictment against him because he feels so strongly about his innocence. While I’m at it, I think I’ll take a poll of county jail inmates and see how many of them feel strongly that they’re innocent and have done nothing wrong.

Ralphy’s attorney says there were legitimate business reasons for taking the trip to Costa Fucking Rica. You’re kidding me right? What business could a sheriff in Texas have to tend to in Central America? Wikipedia sez electronics, pharmaceuticals, financial outsourcing, software development, and ecotourism have become the country’s prime industries. I wonder if he was going down there to research new Erectile Dysfunction Disorder medicines for the county’s health benefits plan.

I say fire his ass on the spot. Public servants, especially those serving in law enforcement or legal capacities, should serve and act beyond reproach.

The mere appearance of impropriety must be avoided at all times. It’s pretty simple dumbass.

Roger Flores

San Antonio City Councilman Roger Flores was the subject of an eight-month WOAI investigation concerning his propensity to take advantage of his position.

This is the second time Mr. Flores has graced this blog. The first entry concerned his use of his city-provided computer to surf the internet during city council meetings (and no, it wasn't official business)

This time around he uses his position and his "official business" parking sticker to his advantage.

Video

This guy is amazingly arrogant. His attempt at justifying the abuse of his position and city parking sticker reminds me of a child's inept attempt at lying his way out of a pickle. Does he really think people believe this shit?

Go visit his site and send him a note if you feel so inlcined.

Local Edition

San Antonio City Council members were busted by local television station, WOAI, after the station’s “Trouble Shooters” team got a hold of councilmember internet logs.

It appears that these dedicated public servants have been surfing the internet during, yes during, city council meetings. Most of them were just fucking off, but one was actually using his city-furnished laptop to tend to a second job!

In this article, WOAI reported that councilman Chip Haas defended his checking out the New Orleans Saints Cheerleaders during a council meeting as:

“…researching New Orleans Saints things, trying to see if it was going to work in New Orleans or whether or not they would be looking for a home in San Antonio.” He went on to explain that some cheerleaders caught his eye so he “went on to view the rest of their site.”

Nice try Chippy; the Saints, according to WOAI, had announced their decision to return to New Orleans six months prior to your hunnysurfing adventure.

Haas spent time at other meetings viewing sports scores, banking, making golf reservations, and paying personal cell phone bills. Haas the brain surgeon defended his inappropriate use of city property at a meeting he was elected to pay the fuck attention to by saying that he only did his personal surfing when people addressing the council got off topic. Bullshit.

What really got me about Mr. Haas was his arrogant fucking tone and attitude when interviewed by WOAI (video link at the end of this rant).

++++++++++

Another councilman, Roger Flores, is reported to enjoy spending our money surfing model toy airplane sites, looking at sites that had information on parts for his Landrover, buying shoes and tennis equipment, and viewing Maria Sharapova’s web site. Oh, and he also likes checking out Motley Crue’s web site during meetings.

Flores defended his inappropriate use of city property by blathering this to WOAI’s Brian Collister:

“ ‘Folks need to understand that with the, I guess, how long these particular meetings are, that either you've already heard the information before, or that someone's asking questions that either you've already asked or you that you have no concern about,’ said Flores.”

“Collister then asked, ‘So, people shouldn't show up and try to express their opinions because you've already heard them?’ “

“ ‘No, I absolutely agree that they need to show up,’ answered Flores.”

++++++++++

Councilwoman Delicia Herrera used her laptop to shop for clothes during meetings.

Richard Perez researched South Texas rental properties.

Sheila McNeil made flight reservations and paid personal cell phone bills.

Dang...if these overworked dunces don't have enough time in a day, let's give 'em some more vacation time, or hire 'em secretaries!

++++++++++

Councilman Kevin Wolf used his city-provided computer to work his second job at Deacon Recruiting. Here’s Wolff’s lame-ass defense of his actions:

" ‘I sign on to my work e-mail and periodically check e-mails from the job that actually pays me,’ Wolff told us, adding he doesn't check his work e-mail a lot. He said he only checks it when he says it is during a staff presentations he's already heard.”

“Wolff said, ‘I'm not doing e-mail when it is something I haven't heard before. Otherwise, if it is something I've heard before, you bet, I got to support myself and my family, so I have to keep up with work, as well.’ "

Huh? Did I hear that right? Actually pays you? You’re the dumbass that ran for this position as a public servant. If you can’t fulfill the duties you were elected to carry out, get the fuck out of office, and I mean now.

While the other public servants’ use of their city provided laptops was inappropriate and unethical, Mr. Wolff’s actions in using a government computer system to conduct personal business is, in my opinion, tantamount to fraud, and is deserved of immediate dismissal.
